Lauren Maldonado is an experienced trial attorney with a passion for protecting the constitutional rights of individuals accused of crimes. As a criminal defense attorney, she understands the importance of protecting her clients' rights throughout the entire criminal justice process while ensuring they receive competent legal and zealous representation.
Lauren received her bachelor's degree from George Mason University and went on to attend the Ave Maria School of Law on a full scholarship, receiving her Juris Doctorate in 2008. While in law school, Lauren was a member of the Moot Court Board and won multiple trial and oral advocacy competitions. After graduating, she moved to Florida and has been a licensed member of the Florida Bar since 2008.
Lauren then began her legal career at the State Attorney's office in Bartow, FL. Her experience as a prosecutor gave her insight into the State's approach but also helped her to identify issues and weaknesses in the prosecutors' cases. This experience became invaluable when Lauren later chose to pursue a career as a criminal defense attorney. She has spent years zealously representing her clients in a broad spectrum of criminal matters, such as misdemeanors, probation violations, drug crimes and more serious felony matters. She has effectively settled thousands of cases in their pretrial stages and has also successfully argued evidentiary hearings and defended numerous clients in jury and bench trials.
Lauren lives with her husband Joe in St. Petersburg, FL, within Pinellas County, along with their two cats, Spike and Angel. Lauren also likes to travel, read and spend time at the beach.
The Law Firm of Lauren Maldonado is locally owned and based in St. Petersburg, FL.
